My baby is here after a very fast labor. I didn't get the homebirth I had prepared for, but I was pretty close to having one.
I woke up about 2 am with strong contractions so I decided to take a bath. Once I got in the bath, they started coming stronger and closer so I woke everyone up around 3 and told them to call the midwife and let her know I was in labor. I labored in the tub by myself for a majority of the time, then I started getting a lot of pressure and just had the urge to push with each contraction. I think this was around the time my water broke because I started leaking blood. As soon as I started pushing my mom knew something was up and decided to call an ambulance at 3:30. SO called the midwife and she was barely pulling out of her driveway and he told her to just meet us at the hospital. I remember getting out of the tub and sitting on the toilet and the dispatcher telling my mom to tell me to cross my legs and get off the toilet. Lmao like that would've made a difference.
The ambulance got here and on the ride to the hospital (5 minutes away) the paramedic is freaking out tellin me not to push and to hold it until we get there. As soon as they get me into L&D triage, the nurse confirms I am 10 cm and I start pushing against her orders. Lol I was just letting my body do its thing and was following my instincts. The baby was crowning before the doctor came and then when he came in I was freakin exhausted. I actually asked him for drugs and an episiotomy. I told him I couldn't do it anymore and I remember being pissed off because he was just sitting there with his head resting on his hand and he rolled his eyes at me. 2 pushes later and the baby came out. He was born at 3:48 am, weighed 8 lbs 2 oz, and measured 20" long. He pooped inside of me but luckily he didn't need to go to NICU. He latched on right away and has been doing great since! Now for the pictures...
