In the Suggestions & Input Thread, Gold had brought up White Chocolate Strawberry Shortcake M&Ms - which are a Target exclusive (she also reports that Walmart has an exclusive Chocolate Strawberry version).
I dreamt of these. Discussed them with DH. Made a Target trip specifically for these little gems (although any excuse to go to Target is fine with me, JS). And it's winter, so it was cold. Really cold. Had to put on a jacket and everything! And did I mention that I had two children in tow? - which is a struggle that no one but I understand. I couldn't find a parking space directly right next to the store, so I had to WALK like, 20 feet. Maybe even 21 feet.
Life is so hard, y'all.
But I kept telling myself, "It will be so worth it, K. You'll thank Gold when you get these in your mouth". Which is oddly enough something I tell myself quite often.
The three of us made it inside (after a breeze MESSED UP MY HAIR), and we navigated our way to the Valentine's Day section. I looked around expectantly, excitedly - even nervously, as though searching for a long-lost lover.
Nothing.
My Target didn't carry these mythical M&Ms - at least not that day. I turned my face towards the sky and cursed Gold's name with a long howl. And then I spotted these!:
Not new, but in a nifty Valentine's Day package. Cherry Milk Chocolate M&Ms.
I took my consolation prize home (along with $63 worth of purchases that I hadn't known I'd needed until Target told me so), and opened the bag. I was immediately hit with the scent of cherry cordials. I love cherry cordials.
I won't include the caloric information for M&Ms, because they don't matter - nor do they count. I took notice of the two toned reds. I also kept a sharp eye out for my son, who was unable to test these along with me (even plain M&Ms are not generally approved for peanut allergies). I quickly popped a few in my mouth.
Not bad. Not as cherry flavored as they smelled, but not bad. A mild cherry flavor with the classic M&M milk chocolate, with a slightly odd tangy aftertaste at the end (which knocked it down a few points IMO). DH loved these - in fact, he claimed rest of the bag for himself, which was fine with me. I ate them while thinking about the strawberry shortcake ones
What are your favorite M&Ms?
Mine are the mint ones. Hands down.
